The game drive at the Stanley & Livingstone Private Game Reserve - part of the Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve - is one of the most unique safari experiences in Zimbabwe. Conveniently located just 10–15 minutes from Victoria Falls town, making it an easy add-on to a day of touring the Falls. As a private reserve, it feels more intimate and less "crowded" than the public national parks. Vehicles are permitted to go off-road for significant sightings.
Unlike the neighboring national parks, this 2,500-hectare private reserve is a dedicated Intensive Protection Zone for the endangered Black Rhino. While the reserve is home to the Big Five Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, and Rhino, the absolute highlight is the Black Rhino. This is one of the few places in the region where you have a very high success rate of seeing these rare, prehistoric-looking creatures in their natural habitat. You will also likely encounter giraffes, zebras, sable antelopes, eland, and over 400 species of birds. The drive traverses diverse landscapes, from basalt plains and teak forests to the shores of the Masuwe River and scenic watering holes.
A small additional "Rhino Conservation Fee" goes directly toward anti-poaching units. The reserve offers three primary ways to experience the bush, each lasting roughly 3 to 4 hours including transfers from Victoria Falls town.
